History

The Cornell University Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers was established in the fall semester of 1979 by Federico Moncayo, Edwin Rivera, Samuel Ramos, Mario Rivera and Ron Simmons, the director of the Minority Programs at that time, making this year our 29th Anniversary. Since then it has remained active on campus, specifically within the engineering and minority communities. This year marks our fifth year as a large chapter, and we hope to continue this exciting growth.
